Field Engineer
OverviewWe’re looking for a motivated Field Engineer to help deploy advanced packet‑optical transport networks for major U.S. operators. This role is dynamic, travel‑intensive (50–75%), and hands‑on — involving installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and fiber optic testing.You’ll work on network deployments, migrations, and Fiber Optic Characterization (FOC), while collaborating with project teams to ensure smooth integration of cutting‑edge solutions. When not traveling, you’ll join the team at our Richardson facility to support ongoing projects.TravelExpect 50–75% travel across the U.S., with occasional international assignmentsTrips may last 1–3 weeks, covering metropolitan regions or long-haul deploymentsEssential FunctionsCollaborate with internal and external project teams to:Provide technical and logistical solutions in the fieldIdentify and mitigate potential risks proactivelyExecute projects per the Statement of Work, adapting as neededPerform network deployment functions in both factory and field settingsConfiguration, integration, migration, and testing of complex packet-optical networksDeliver remote technical support and training for junior engineers and customersStay current with new optical networking technologiesDeployment Lead ResponsibilitiesLead network deployments, organize and plan for successDemonstrate advanced proficiency in:Site surveys & technical documentationFiber Optic Characterization (FOC)Office 365 tools (Outlook, Excel, Visio, Word)Equipment installation and integration across multiple vendor platforms (Ciena 6500/RSP, Nokia 1830/IPD, Infinera XTM/GX, etc.)Network testing, troubleshooting, and turn-up for long-haul, metro, and regional architecturesQualificationsMinimum 3+ years of telecom experienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experienceWillingness to travel up to 75%
