BUSINESS FINANCIAL MANAGER PARKS & RECREATION
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:1. Prepares a variety of detailed accounting, statistical, and narrative financial statements or reports requiring analysis and interpretation; and works with the Parks & Recreation Staff and Finance Office.2. Participates in the preparation and maintenance of budgets. Analyzes and evaluates financial/statistical data to report on department, or fund expenditures and revenues in order to assist with budget or financial statement preparation.3. May post journal entries and perform bank reconciliations.4. May review the work of clerical personnel in making entries, reconciliations, and performing other fiscal record-keeping work.5. Assists in financial or statistical data for management use; prepares cost and budget analysis as requested.6. Researches and corrects complex accounting errors or discrepancies to ensure accurate accounting.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:1. Ability to research and correct complex accounting errors or discrepancies to ensure accurate accounting.2. Ability to analyze fiscal data and draw logical conclusions; define accounting problems and recommend effective solutions; detect possible weaknesses of internal control and standard accounting procedures and recommend revisions.3. Ability to verbally communicate accounting procedures and policies clearly to others.4. Ability to use personal computer applications including spreadsheet software and word software. Knowledge of Munis, SQUARE, COGRAN, financial software a plus.5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.DESIRABLE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:1) Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting, and two years of professional accounting experience.
