Cyber Security Engineer

Security Engineer — Cloud & Application SecurityRemote | Full-Time | $100,000–$125,000Why This Opportunity? This isn't a role for someone looking to sit on the sidelines and point out what's wrong. It's an opportunity for a security engineer who wants to build, solve, learn, and make an impact while working alongside a highly capable technical team.If you've established yourself in application security and are ready to develop greater depth across cloud, infrastructure, data security, and detection engineering, we'd like to hear from you.We are partnering with a proven client; a growing, technology-driven organization to identify a Security Engineer who wants to do more than identify vulnerabilities; you want to solve problems, strengthen systems, and make the people around you better. This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional with approximately 3–5 years of experience who has already established a strong foundation in application security and is ready to broaden their impact across cloud security, infrastructure, data platforms, and detection engineering. Our client places significant emphasis on culture and core values. They value people who are curious, accountable, resilient, collaborative, and willing to ask questions. This is an environment for someone who wants to contribute, learn, challenge assumptions thoughtfully, and row in the same direction as the rest of the team. What You'll DoHelp secure modern applications, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms across a multi-cloud environment.Apply a strong application-security foundation to increasingly complex challenges involving cloud, infrastructure, and detection engineering.Partner with engineering and development teams to identify vulnerabilities and, more importantly, develop practical solutions to address them.Evaluate security architecture, controls, configurations, and application design with an emphasis on reducing meaningful risk.Help secure modern data and application environments utilizing technologies such as Snowflake, Python, and JavaScript.Contribute to cloud security across platforms such as DigitalOcean, AWS, and Azure.Work with modern security technologies that may include Cloudflare, EDR, DLP, SIEM, vulnerability-management, and detection/response platforms.Improve security visibility, monitoring, alerting, and detection capabilities.Automate security processes and controls where appropriate.Collaborate closely with talented engineers while sharing knowledge and helping raise the capabilities of the overall team.Ask questions—a lot of them. Curiosity, thoughtful investigation, and a willingness to understand why are highly valued. What We're Looking ForWe're less interested in someone who simply checks every technology box and more interested in someone who has demonstrated the ability to learn, solve difficult problems, and deliver results.Ideally, you bring:Approximately 3–5 years of professional cybersecurity/security engineering experience.Demonstrated success working within application security.Hands-on experience securing applications and cloud-based infrastructure.Experience operating within multi-cloud environments.Exposure to DigitalOcean is highly desirable; experience with AWS and/or Azure is equally relevant.Understanding of modern application architectures, APIs, identity/access, infrastructure, and data security.Experience working alongside software engineers and technical teams using technologies such as Python and JavaScript.Exposure to modern data platforms such as Snowflake.Familiarity with technologies such as Cloudflare, EDR, DLP, SIEM, CSPM, vulnerability management, and modern detection tooling.Ability to move comfortably between identifying a security problem and helping engineer the solution.Strong communication and collaboration skills. You'll likely thrive in this environment if you are:Curious — you ask questions and genuinely want to understand how things work.Hands-on — you're willing to dig into a problem rather than simply document it.Driven — you take ownership and follow things through.Resilient — difficult problems motivate rather than discourage you.Collaborative — you want to work alongside strong people and help make the team better.Thoughtful — you understand that security requires judgment, context, and partnership.Growth-oriented — you're accomplished enough to contribute immediately but hungry enough to know there is much more to learn.Values-driven — integrity, accountability, trust, and partnership influence how you approach your work.
