Plant Integration Engineer
The Plant Integration Engineer Mechanical and Process Systems, supports the integration, oversight, and coordination of Nuclear and Energy Island mechanical and process systems. In this role, you will report to the Manager for Process/Mechanical Systems in the EPC Design Integration group and support the integration of systems designed by one of partners for the NATRIUMT demonstration plant. The successful candidate will provide technical and administrative design support and oversight for a wide range of nuclear and non-nuclear mechanical/process systems. This will include a selection of ancillary and power cycle systems (air and gas system, cranes, heating and air conditioning, fire system, and steam and power systems such as condensate and feedwater and heat rejection).Support and oversight include cross functional and inter-disciplinary integration, and review of deliverables for technical accuracy and/or completeness. The Plant Integration Engineer is also responsible to track schedule adherence and mitigation, and help resolving schedule related issues. The system integration engineer will work as part of a high performing team of engineers.Responsibilities:Provide engineering oversight of nuclear and non-nuclear systems (for example, air and gas, cranes, heating and air conditioning, fire, condensate and feedwater, cooling tower, etc.).Provides integration and oversight to geographically diverse team members to develop system design deliverables, with emphasis on selected system from the previous list.Support development of steam, power, and auxiliary system components in the plant 3D model for systems for which candidate has oversight responsibility.Supports integration of mechanical/process systems with integration engineers of interfacing systems.Supports interface with other plant design departments, including plant 3D model development, Civil/Structural/Architectural, PRA, electrical, seismic, nuclear island fluid systems, plant integrated analysis, etc.Tracks engineering and procurement task progress and schedule adherence for the assigned systems and drives mitigation solutions for tasks behind schedule.Key Qualifications and Skills:The successful candidate will display leadership skills by proactively driving cross functional design collaboration and integration of mechanical process systems, structures, and components.A bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences or a related technical field is required, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in nuclear and non-nuclear power plant design and/or retrofits, with emphasis on mechanical process systems.Engineering experience with multiple systems that are listed above for possible integration and oversight. The candidate must be team oriented, and able to work effectively with geographically distributed and possibly international design team members.Candidate should have broad-based technical and engineering skills and experience leading an integrated cross functional design team.Experience with overseeing and tracking of engineering design schedules and driving of schedule adherence and mitigation.Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey critical design integration information to senior management, the engineering team, customers etc.Ability to work in a first of a kind environment that requires good engineering judgement and identify needed design progress to achieve key project objectives.Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, able to communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
