Operator must inspect and maintain the equipment, including hydraulic lines, brakes, and cables at all times.Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe Tower Crane Operator will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform their role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.Operates Tower CraneOperates tower crane to lift/move construction equipment and materials by quickly and repeatedly adjusting controls of the crane to exact positionsControls crane movement in response to hand signals or radio commands by signalerEnsures operating radius is always defined and in the clearEnsures loads are properly rigged and do not exceed load limits on tower craneAssists in erection, jacking and disassembling of tower craneSecures cab when not in useMaintains Crane EquipmentInspects periodically and per manufacturer recommendations cables and braking mechanisms for wear and installs/replaces cables as neededInspects and tightens all bolted connections on a regular basisInspects all hydraulic lines for wear and leakage on regular basisFollows all recommended manufacturer’s maintenance requirements on equipmentRequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent; minimum of two years of (appropriate) crane operator experience Required NCCCO appropriate Crane CertificationRequired current DOT Medical ExamAt Baker Construction, we welcome those who are driven to make things happen.
