Meat Processing Associate

Shift Fillers is looking for a Block Person to work at our client in Opelika, AL. Pay Rate: $14-15/hr Shift: Start time 1st shift @ 5:30am, 2nd shift 2:30pm Job Description The block person is responsible for: Sanitarily unpacking 60-pound frozen blocks of meat Visually checking them for quality, using an automatic metal detector Placing the blocks on a conveyor to be ground Maintaining the supply and type of blocks needed for the type of meat being produced Keeping work area clean Other duties assigned This job classification is a Labor Grade four (4) Job Requirements Requires continuous lifting and moving of 60-pounds for 8 hour shift Requires working constant temperatures of 40 to 50 degrees and occasionally in temperatures of less than 10 degree Fahrenheit Constant standing, walking, and moving Wearing protective equipment and/or clothing All senses for organoleptic check of raw materials, i.e., sight, smell, etc Total and full range of motion physically Job Duties Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) Follow safety procedure Unpack frozen blocks of beef Inspect blocks for quality Load blocks onto conveyor and monitor blocks for grinding Keep work area clean Other assigned duties #IndeedSF
