From early architecture and algorithm development through integration, flight testing and mission deployment, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering technologies that move rapidly from simulation into operational capability.The Senior GNC Software Engineer will lead the development of Guidance, Navigation & Control software for advanced autonomous air systems, working closely with software, systems, flight controls and hardware teams throughout the complete engineering lifecycle.As the Senior GNC Software Engineer your responsibilities will includeDeveloping Guidance, Navigation & Control software for autonomous aircraft and advanced aerospace platformsDesigning flight control, guidance and autonomy algorithms using PX4, ArduPilot or comparable flight software frameworksIntegrating software onto embedded Linux platforms, real-time operating systems and flight hardwareSupporting simulation, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), flight testing and operational deployment activitiesCollaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to optimise vehicle performance, autonomy and mission capabilityAs the Senior GNC Software Engineer you will bringExperience developing Guidance, Navigation & Control software for UAVs, autonomous aircraft, missiles or advanced aerospace systemsStrong C++ software engineering capability with experience developing embedded or real-time systemsUnderstanding of flight dynamics, control systems, autonomy and autonomous vehicle behaviourExperience with PX4, ArduPilot or similar autonomous flight software frameworksStrong technical problem-solving skills with experience integrating software, sensors and embedded flight hardwareThe Senior GNC Software Engineer will become one of the engineers shaping the future of autonomous aerospace capability, developing flight software that directly influences vehicle performance, mission success and operational effectiveness.
