Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Surgical Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 9 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Surg Tech 2 UP - BMC OR Location: Not specified Job Summary: The Surgical Technician functions as an integral part of the perioperative team as the first, second, or assisting Surgical Technician under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. They deliver safe and effective care to the patient during the intraoperative period, applying principles of asepsis, maintaining a sterile environment, and demonstrating competency in technical and psychomotor skills. Responsibilities include providing age-specific care to obstetrical patients, organizing supplies and equipment, maintaining a safe environment, charging for equipment and supplies, participating in room turnover and setup, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and performing sterilization and disinfection per policy. Required Qualifications: • 1+ years of surgical tech experience • Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures • Demonstrates ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed • Applied basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimal surgical patient care • Applies basic knowledge of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers for optimal surgical patient care • Demonstrates knowledge and practice of patient care concepts and perioperative teamwork • Applies principles of sterile technique during surgical procedures Required Education: • Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology OR • Certificate of completion of Surgical Technology program Required Certifications & Licensure: • BLS (American Heart Association) • IDPH Fingerprinting Preferred Qualifications: None Preferred Certifications & Licensure: None QUALIFICATION/LICENSURE Work Authorization : US Citizen Preferred years of experience : 2 years Travel required : No travel required Shift timings : Days RightSourcing IHS Job ID # .
