Bankruptcy Associate II (HYBRID)

Description
The Associate II, Bankruptcy processes member bankruptcies in alignment with internal policies and procedures and the Federal Bankruptcy Code, with the mandate of protecting the credit union's position in active bankruptcies. Job Duties: Identify member loans affected by a bankruptcy filing (including Chapter 7 and 13), document accounts in core banking system, and take appropriate action as necessary in compliance with the Federal Bankruptcy Code Update credit reporting indicators as appropriate Prepare all manners of court documents for legal review and court filing Obtain additional bankruptcy documentation (including court filings, notices of hearing, etc) Prepare relevant letters and notices and distribute them in accordance with Federal Bankruptcy Code and internal policies Apply payments, fee reversals and other system maintenance transactions Ensure optimal representation by fostering strong relationships with First Tech's outside legal counsel Coordinate the processing and delivery of all incoming and outgoing department communications Identify gaps in department processes and procedures, recommending improvements to leadership Assist leadership with research requests and special projects Essential Skills: Minimum two years' experience in administration or customer service in an office setting, preferably in the financial services industry; experience processing bankruptcies or working in a law firm is preferred Foundational understanding of the debt collections process and relevant laws; demonstrated work experience in a related role preferred Basic knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies is preferred Basic understanding of the Federal Bankruptcy Code is preferred Familiarity with Mortgage and Consumer contract structure and default clauses is preferred Working knowledge of interest accrual calculation for mortgage and consumer products is preferred Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment Ability to anticipate needs and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high-volume peaks while producing high-quality work Strong business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Proven ability to professionally handle sensitive documents Strong research, analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Certification/License: N/A Minimum Education: High School Diploma Location: Hillsboro Corporate Office - Hillsboro, OR 97124 (HYBRID) Target Compensation for Hillsboro, OR:$22.50 - $26.25 plus annual bonus Benefits options include: Traditional medical, dental, and vision coverage 401K matching up to 5% per pay period Paid Time Off: You'll accrue up to 15 vacation days in your first year.
