Mapping Specialist

DescriptionWe’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with computers, enjoys solving problems, and can stay organized while working independently. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, learns quickly, and wants to build a long-term skillset—even without prior GIS experience.What You’ll DoReview and update mapping data to keep our system accurate and reliable Work with a variety of information sources (digital files, maps, documents) to make updates Follow established processes to certify and maintain service area data Research and resolve mapping gaps or inconsistencies Support internal and external users with mapping-related requests Maintain detailed notes and documentation for repeatable, consistent workRequirementsWhat Matters Most (Core Traits)We care more about how you think and work than what’s on your resume:Comfortable using a PC and learning new software Able to logically organize files and confidently save/reopen work Strong attention to detail and consistency Self-starter who can stay productive without constant supervision Willingness to learn and improve over time Ability to follow directions and apply feedback Good note-taking habits for future reference Clear communication (written and verbal) Helpful, But Not RequiredThese can help you ramp up faster, but they are not necessary:GIS or mapping experience Technical school or college coursework Experience working with data, maps, or similar systems(We’re open to training the right candidate—even without GIS experience.)Who This Role Is (and Isn’t) For?
