Insight Global is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer focused on power distribution, generation, and construction to join a confidential company in the greater Austin, TX area. This is a full-time, permanent role with competitive salary, equity, and benefits.In this role, the Electrical Engineer will work collaboratively to design, build, and activate infrastructure at a massive campus in Bastrop, in addition to facilities improvements and large capital projects. To be successful in this role, it is imperative for candidates to have experience in a high-ownership environment, managing projects from start to finish.Responsibilities: Lead project team through entire engineering process, including procurement, construction, and commissioningPerform full lifecycle engineers tasks for a variety of critical projects on a tight timelineDevelop and issues drawings, designs, documentation, and reports for industrial, aerospace, and commercial projectsWrite, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractorsDe-escalate and resolve ad hoc design and construction conflictsCoordinate with relevant electrical utilities provider(s) to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructureEnsure all equipment interfaces properly with other mechanical/electrical systems, including compatibility with facility power budgetsEnsure all electrical designs and installations conform to applicalbe codes and regulationsProvide code review and analysis utilizing NFPA 70E, NFPA 70 NEC, NFPA 497, NFPA 101, Vol 5 & 6 AFSPCMAN 91-710, and IBCRequired skills and experience:Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or similar electrical engineering technology6+ years of experience with designing and building commercial/industrial power systems8+ years of years of professional experience in a similar role with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac)Working knowledge of delta/wye transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, building lighting, building construction specifications, and facility groundingExperience with critical power infrastructure including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switchesAutoCAD/Revil expertiseFamiliarity with the National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Association, and International Building CodeAbility to read and understand power and control schematics and technical equipment operation and maintenance (O&M) manualsExperience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), industrial pumps, MODBUS communication, medium-voltage distribution and control panel design and productionWorking knowledge of power coordination and arc flash
