Automotive Technician (Experience Required - Lemont)

Position Purpose: To provide quality repair service for customers following the vehicle manufacturer's specifications. Job Duties:Include but are not limited to: Diagnostic testing, tune-ups, brake services, suspension repair, tire repair & replacement. In addition, the mechanic will help the service technicians perform inspections on other vehicles. All staff members are also responsible for keeping tools organized & the shop clean, safe & presentable.Job Responsibilities:Perform detailed inspections on customers vehicles to determine the service & repair needsRecommend repairs based on the findings of the inspectionCommunicate the findings effectively to the manager/ service advisorProper research to look up and identify specifications for different vehiclesPerform functions of a service & inspection technician as requiredPerform all necessary repairs according to vehicle specifications.Complete assigned repairs in a timely mannerOther duties as requested or assigned Job Requirements:Have a valid drivers license & be authorized to work in the U.SHave a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, & be a motivated team playerBe able to work in a fast-paced environment & multi-taskAbility to operate automotive service equipment, ie. fluid service equipment & other specialized toolsMust be able to lift & move work-related items up to 75 poundsMust be able to push, pull, lift, & bend at the knees & waist.Maintain a clean and organized work areaAdhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.Complete ongoing computer based training program modules as required by corporateMinimum 1 year automotive repair shop/ dealership experienceASE certified preferred.Compensation:• Competitive starting pay with advancement opportunities• State of the art training & certification program recognized by the ASE• Bonus for repair work completed• Flexible scheduling, and a great team settingEducation/Experience:High school diploma or GEDFormal automotive education preferredMinimum 2 years of automotive shop/ dealership experience
