In this role you will develop autonomous behaviors for humanoid robots to interact with the world around it. You will work closely with state estimation, navigation, and controls teams to execute behaviors aimed at solving challenging problems in real-world deployments.About The WorkDesign, implement, test, and deploy autonomous behaviors for humanoid robotsPrototype autonomous behaviors in simulation and execute on robot hardwareDevelop algorithms robust to environmental uncertainty and imperfect state estimationImplement performance tests for evaluating the reliability of robot behaviorsContribute to the software architecture and design of the autonomy stackCollaborate with members of the autonomy teams to solve complex cross functional problemsEngineer high quality software that is well tested, reliable and maintainableAbout YouIndustry experience deploying mobile manipulation robots in real world applicationsExperience developing manipulation algorithms on high-DOF robotsFamiliarity with behavior trees, finite state machines, or similar behavior management and execution systemsExperience with perception and scene understanding especially as it pertains to manipulationStrong robotics fundamentals, including kinematics, dynamics, sensing, and controlExperience using simulation tools such as Isaac Sim / Mujoco / Drake / gazebo or similarExperience with automated testing for simulationStrong debugging skills; the ability to identify and diagnose complex issues that arise within roboticsStrong software experience in modern C++ and PythonBonus QualificationsExperience working with humanoid (or similar) robotsExperience leveraging machine learning to improve grasp planning and object manipulationExperience in classical robotics motion planning and trajectory optimization algorithmsMS or Ph.D. in robotics, computer science, or related field or have equivalent industry experiencePublications in your field (RSS, ICRA, IROS preferred)We are open to remote candidates, but a prefer this role to be hybrid position based out of one of our Salem, Pittsburgh, or Fremont offices.The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
