Infrastructure Engineer
Overview
In this role you design and steer the infrastructure platform that powers automated manufacturing across multiple factory sites. You shape cloud, edge, and factory-floor architecture and set engineering standards for the org. You move from strategy to implementation, building scalable patterns and reusable components that engineers love to use. You will influence cross-site decisions, drive automation, and improve resilience while partnering with diverse teams to advance Hadrian’s manufacturing mission.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform/OpenTofuBuild and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS in cloud, K0s/K3s at edge)Develop CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows with GitHub Actions and ArgoCDCreate reusable infrastructure patterns (Terraform modules, Helm charts, CUE schemas)Architect networking between sites, edge devices, and cloudImplement monitoring/observability with Prometheus/Grafana and DatadogSupport edge computing and IoT deployments on factory floorsDrive build-vs-buy decisions and evaluate technologiesEstablish engineering standards and best practicesDocument architecture in ADRs and represent infrastructure in architecture reviewsIdentify operational gaps and drive automation to reduce toilParticipate in on-call rotation and incident responseWrite clear documentation and runbooks
Key requirements8+ years in infrastructure or platform engineeringProven experience in cloud, containers, and networking designAbility to translate architecture to production implementationsDeep Terraform/IaC skills with module development/testingProduction Kubernetes experience including troubleshooting, scaling, multi-cluster patternsStrong security instincts: threat modeling, least privilege, compliance fundamentalsTrack record of building reusable patterns adopted by engineersExperience reducing complexity and improving aesthetics of infrastructureStrong documentation and communication skillsMentorship and knowledge-sharing abilityMentoring teammatesStrong communication and documentationCross-functional collaborationTerraform/IaCKubernetes (EKS, multi-cluster)GitOps (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
