Process EngineeerPay Rate: $65-75/hrJob DescriptionThe Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of pipeline, terminal, and processing facilities. This role will focus on process design, simulation, and process safety management (PSM) activities, including PHA and LOPA studies, while leveraging Aspen HYSYS to model and optimize system performance. The Process Engineer collaborates closely with Operations, ProjectEngineering, Integrity, and HSE teams.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Safety & Risk ManagementLead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA/HAZOP, What‑If, FMEA) for operating facilities and capital projectsPerform and support Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) to evaluate risk and recommend safeguardsSupport PSM compliance (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119), including documentation, audits, and action item trackingIdentify and implement risk mitigation strategies, including safety instrumented systems (SIS) and SIL determinationsProcess Engineering & OptimizationDevelop and maintain Aspen HYSYS models for gas processing, compression, and pipeline systemsPerform mass and energy balance calculations, system simulations, and debottlenecking analysesTroubleshoot operational issues (pressure, flow, temperature, capacity constraints)Support plant optimization initiatives to improve throughput, efficiency, and reliabilityOperations & Project SupportProvide technical support to operations, maintenance, and project teamsParticipate in Management of Change (MOC) processesReview and approve process design documents (PFDs, P&IDs, relief systems, control strategies)Support capital and maintenance projects from concept through startupEssential Skills And ExperienceBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering will be considered with applicable process engineering experience.10 years of experience in process, PHA, LOPA, hazard analysis, design, construction, or operation of refinery or condensate splitter operations.Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in the field and remotely.Experience with process facility instrumentation, controls, and automation.Ability to develop, read, and interpret mechanical diagrams.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with a diverse range of personnel.Experience and understanding of compression, flare systems, and fractionation.Functional knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section VII Div 1, API 520/521, and other RAGAGEP standards and regulations.Familiarity with OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management (PSM) of Highly Hazardous Chemicals and EPA 40CFR Part 68 Risk Management Plan (RMP).Additional Skills & QualificationsHands‑on experience with:PHA / HAZOP facilitation or participationLOPA analysisAspen HYSYS (process simulation)Strong Knowledge OfProcess Safety Management (PSM)Gas processing systems, pipelines, or compression operationsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75.00 - $75.00/hr.RequirementsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
