Massage Therapist

Pay Transparency: $35 - $50/hour; Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay depends on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, work experience, and other business needs.Role And ResponsibilitiesThe Massage Therapist is responsible for providing members, guests, and corporate clients with therapeutic massage. The Massage Therapist is also responsible for assisting in the growth of The Spa through self-promotion.Specific ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsProvide massage therapy to members, guests, and corporate clientsBe responsive to our membersComply with the Massage Room Shift Guidelines while on siteMaintain communication with schedulers to ensure attendanceSelf-Promotion – participate in the promotion of the massage departmentAdminister emergency care to members and guests in need of assistanceWork as a TEAM with all other departmentsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisorOther FunctionsBe knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active Wellness Promote club services and activitiesPerform routine maintenance of massage equipmentAssist with keeping The Spa well stocked and cleanAttend Active Wellness site meetings and trainingsHandle injury and illness and security incident reportingQualificationsQualifications and Education Requirements500 hours of training from an accredited massage school. 25 hours of chair massage training is a plus, CAMTC certified. 2 yrs of work experience or have completed 500 hours of a 750-hour massage program that offers either an off-site internship program or an on-site supervised clinic.Training in one of the following three modalities: Swedish, deep tissue, or sports massage, Thai Massage, acupressure, cupping, Red Light, pre-natal, and lymphatic, etc. a plus. Must be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer serviceStrong verbal communication skillsBasic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industryAED/CPR/First Aid CertifiedProof of citizenship or legal statusPhysical and Working ConditionsAbility to take the responsibility for the health and safety of othersAbility to stand for several hours in a same shift; ability to lift 25 lbsFitness club environmentMust follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standardsThis job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the position.
