Prepare lesson plans, course outlines and educational progress reports. Establish and maintain a shop health and safety program. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).*Level 1/SG12: Either four years of appropriate paid trade experience; OR an associates degree appropriate to the teaching field and two years of such experience; OR a bachelors degree appropriate to the teaching field and one year of such experience.Level 2/SG13: In addition to meeting the level 1 qualifications, candidates must have completed six hours towards obtaining a New York Certification for teaching the appropriate trades specialist.Level 3/SG15: Possession of a valid provisional New York State Certification for teaching the appropriate trade specialty.Level 4/SG17: Possession of a valid provisional New York State Certification for teaching the appropriate trade specialty AND two years of professional teaching experience.* For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
