Associate, Valuation

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Actuarial Associate, Valuation for a FULL TIME assignment with one of our premier Financial clients in BOSTON, MA . This role will work closely with the actuarial valuation team to analyze reserve balances, support financial reporting, and explain drivers of quarterly results. The position offers strong exposure to actuarial modeling, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with modeling, finance, IT, and data teams.LocationThis role can be based in Boston, MA or Hartford, CT. The company is open to candidates willing to relocate to one of these locations.Key Responsibilities• Calculate US Statutory, Tax, and US GAAP reserves and related actuarial balances• Analyze reserve movements and sensitivities across reporting frameworks• Support analysis explaining drivers of quarterly financial results and sources of earnings• Maintain and enhance valuation controls including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) processes• Conduct testing and analysis of potential actuarial assumption changes• Partner with actuarial modeling teams on model updates and improvements• Collaborate with technology and data teams on valuation system transformation initiatives• Support audit requests and regulatory reporting requirementsQualifications• ASA, near-ASA, FSA, or active progress toward actuarial credentialing (ASA/FSA)• 4–8+ years of actuarial experience, preferably within life insurance or annuities• Experience supporting actuarial valuation, reserves, or financial reporting• Knowledge of US Statutory and/or US GAAP valuation frameworks preferred• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills• Ability to collaborate across actuarial, finance, and technology teamsAdditional Information• Actuarial exam support and continuing education support provided• Hybrid work environment (4 days in office, non negotiable)• Competitive compensation including bonus and benefitsSGA is a technology and resource solutions provider driven to stand out.
