Project Engineer - BMS/Control Systems
The Project Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for engineering and delivering controls projects such as Building Management System (BMS), Energy Management System, Electrical Power Management Systems for mission-critical facilities. Day-to-day tasks include developing designs and control strategies, reviewing electrical and mechanical drawings, selecting and configuring hardware and software, and ensuring integration with existing systems and data platforms. The role involves coordinating project plans and schedules, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting commissioning, testing, and validation activities to meet performance, compliance, and reliability requirements. The Project Engineer will document system configurations and changes, maintain clear project records, and provide technical support during implementation, upgrades, and troubleshooting. This position also contributes to energy and performance optimization initiatives and helps translate operational data into practical recommendations for clients.QualificationsExperience with controls systems, PLCs, SCADA, or building automation platforms, and familiarity with mission-critical or high-reliability environments (e.g., data centers, healthcare, utilities)Candidates should possess strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills, with experience in BMS or building automation systems, energy management systems.Candidates should possess Project Planning skills to coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders.Candidates should possess clear and effective Communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Working knowledge of industry standards, commissioning processes, and energy efficiency or performance optimization practices is an advantage.Proficiency with relevant engineering and documentation tools, and strong attention to detail in reporting and lifecycle documentation, is preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively with distributed teamsAbility to travel 25-40% of the time
