FinOp Analyst
Remote: Portsmouth, NH area This Financial Operations & Accounting Analyst role offers a strong foundation for professionals seeking to build a long‑term career in the financial services industry. The position is designed to provide hands‑on experience, structured development, and increasing responsibility within ACA Group’s FINOP Consulting team.
You will work closely with an experienced FINOP leader and gain exposure to SEC and FINRA regulatory reporting, client‑facing engagements, and core accounting and financial operations. The role supports professional growth toward licensed FINOP responsibilities over time and is well suited for individuals who are motivated, detail‑oriented, and eager to develop technical expertise.
What You’ll Be Doing
Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP for Broker‑Dealer and Investment Adviser clients
Assist with SEC and FINRA regulatory filings, developing an understanding of regulatory requirements and reporting standards
Review accounting system reports and tie accounts to supporting documentation
Complete bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain and update internal databases used for financial and regulatory reporting
Communicate with clients to collect required information and resolve outstanding items
Learn bookkeeping practices and how to maintain client books across different business models
Progress toward FINRA Series licensure, with the opportunity to assume registered FINOP responsibilities as qualifications are obtained
Support additional projects and responsibilities as skills and experience expand
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Prior experience (internship, part‑time, or full‑time; 6+ months preferred) in accounting, finance, or a professional office environment
Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Preferred Experience
Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks Online experience is a plus
Interest in financial regulation, compliance, or capital markets
