Electrician - Traffic

The City of Appleton is currently accepting applications for a vacancy in Public Works. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of the City's traffic-related electrical equipment and facilities. Work primarily involves installing, repairing, and maintaining the City's traffic signals and streetlights as well as other electrical equipment and data networking facilities within the City's public rights-of-way. Work is performed under the general supervision of the City Traffic Engineer.This is a journeyman/master electrician position with responsibility for installation, maintenance and repair of the City's traffic-related electrical equipment and facilities. The Electrician-DPW position primarily involves installing, repairing, and maintaining the City's traffic signals and streetlights and other electrical equipment and data networking facilities within the City's public rights-of-way. Work is performed under general supervision of the City Traffic Engineer.This position involves infrequent after-hours duties related to emergency calls, project installations, and contractor inspections. It does not involve on-call duties or on-call rotation.
