Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)Location: Potsdam, NYAssignment Duration: 13 WeeksWeekly Hours: ~36 HoursScheduleShift: Night Shift - 3x12 Hours (18:45 - 07:15)Hours: 36 hours/weekWeekend Requirement: Every other weekendFloating: Required (West 2, West 3, Observation Units)Position Overview"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to work in a mixed-acuity environment including PCU, Stepdown, and Med-Surg Tele units. The role involves managing high-acuity patients with cardiac, neurological, surgical, and medical conditions in a fast-paced hospital setting.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care in PCU/Stepdown/Med-Surg Tele unitsMonitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythmsAdminister IV medications including insulin and cardiac dripsPerform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessmentsManage respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, trach care)Provide wound care and post-operative carePerform central line, PICC line, and port managementAdminister blood products and follow transfusion protocolsRespond to rapid response and emergency situationsMaintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMRCollaborate with multidisciplinary teamsFloat to sister units as requiredUnit DetailsUnit Type: PCU / Stepdown / Med-Surg Tele (Mixed Acuity)Patient Ratio: Adjusted based on acuitySystems Used: EPIC, Pyxis, SBARPatient Population: Adult (rare pediatric cases possible)Required QualificationsActive New York RN License (Required at submission)Minimum 1 year acute care RN experienceRecent PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience (within last 3 years)Strong telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation skillsExperience with IV therapies and cardiac/insulin dripsEPIC EMR experience (Required)Willingness to float between unitsCertificationsBLS (AHA) - RequiredACLS (AHA) - RequiredNIHSS - RequiredPreferred QualificationsPALS CertificationExperience with post-surgical and overflow patientsFor more details contact at hdavda@navitashealth.comor Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
