We turn AI experimentation into usable systems, products, and services, with a focus on operational fit, traceability, and real-world deployment.Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Startup AI Engineer Co-op to help build, deploy, and improve AI-powered systems across cloud infrastructure, internal tools, and applied AI workflows. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who wants to work close to production systems, emerging AI tools, and fast-moving startup experimentation.You will support both technical implementation and applied research, helping move prototypes into reliable systems that can be tested, used, and improved.You will help Boston Agent House:Deploy and maintain AI applications in Google CloudImprove cloud reliability, security, and cost efficiencyTurn internal prototypes into usable AI toolsBuild AI agents and workflow systemsResearch new AI frameworks, coding tools, and agent platformsSupport applied AI use cases in market research, finance, IP, and business operationsThis role is best suited for someone technical, curious, self-directed, and comfortable working in a startup environment where priorities can evolve quickly.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Infrastructure & DeploymentDeploy, configure, and maintain Boston Agent House applications in Google Cloud PlatformSupport cloud architecture across compute, storage, APIs, authentication, and securityMonitor system performance, uptime, usage, and infrastructure costsHelp troubleshoot deployment issues and improve system reliabilityDocument deployment processes, system architecture, and technical decisionsAI Engineering & Production SystemsHelp convert internal AI prototypes into more stable, secure, production-ready toolsBuild and improve AI-powered applications, workflows, and internal systemsWork with APIs, model providers, databases, and cloud servicesSupport AI use cases across market intelligence, financial analysis, patent/IP workflows, and internal operationsBuild and deploy internal AI agents using tools such as Claude Code, OpenClaw, and related agent environmentsAI Tooling, Agents & Workflow AutomationExperiment with emerging AI development tools, LLM frameworks, and agent orchestration approachesEvaluate which tools are practical enough to use in real business workflowsHelp design agent systems that support repeatable tasks, research workflows, and structured outputsImprove internal processes through automation, scripting, and AI-assisted workflowsResearch & Technical EvaluationTrack new AI tools, frameworks, model capabilities, and infrastructure patternsTest tools for reliability, security, cost, usability, and integration potentialSummarize findings for the team in clear, practical termsRecommend tools or approaches that could improve internal products, client work, or operating efficiencyCollaboration & Knowledge SharingParticipate in a weekly in-person Thursday session focused on AI news, tools, trends, and practical applicationsShare technical findings, demos, and lessons learned with the teamWork directly with company leadership on technical priorities and implementation planningContribute to a startup environment where engineering, product thinking, and applied research overlapQualificationsStrong programming ability, preferably in PythonExperience working with APIs, scripts, backend services, or application deploymentsFamiliarity with cloud platformsGoogle Cloud Platform preferredAWS or Azure experience also acceptableWorking knowledge of modern AI tools, LLMs, and AI-assisted development workflowsExperience using or willingness to use Claude CodeAbility to work independently, learn quickly, and document your work clearlyInterest in building practical AI systems rather than only experimenting with demos What You’ll GainDirect experience deploying real AI systems in productionExposure to cutting-edge tools before they are widely adoptedHands-on work across AI, infrastructure, and product developmentA portfolio of tangible systems and deploymentsMentorship from leadership and real ownership of projectsParticipate in a weekly in-person 2-hour Thursday session dedicated to reviewing and discussing the latest AI news, developments, trends, and best practices.This is an un-paid co-op from July - December cycle.
