Join a visionary team at the forefront of integrating clinical excellence, research, and education for ongoing community impact.Responsibilities:Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Division of Ophthalmology, leading the division’s clinical, academic, and research growth.Provide medical oversight and clinical supervision, ensuring exceptional health care delivery systems and adherence to all quality standards and regulatory requirements.Mentor and oversee all division physicians, advanced practice providers, and medical staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous development.Participate in departmental and interdepartmental collaboration, mentoring, coaching, and educational initiatives for physicians, residents, and fellows.Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with a wide range of medical and surgical ophthalmologic disorders using evidence-based clinical practice.Plan, monitor, and optimize staffing activities, supporting diversity, continuing education initiatives, and academic appointments in alignment with institutional goals.Ensure accuracy and compliance in medical record-keeping, billing, and coding procedures across the division.Maintain fiscal responsibility and actively contribute to hospital administrative and clinical committees as assigned.Must-Have Skills:MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.Board eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology.5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in an academic or large clinical environment.Outstanding track record as a clinician, educator, investigator, and administrator in an academic medical center.Active Connecticut medical license and unrestricted D.E.A. certificate.Nice-to-Have Skills:Experience fostering division-level growth and leading strategic initiatives in healthcare.Involvement in cutting-edge research and clinical trials in ophthalmology.Expertise in quality improvement projects aligned with Joint Commission standards.Background in mentoring and developing academic faculty and trainees.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within healthcare teams.
