Sustainable Comfort, Inc. is a green building and energy efficiency consulting firm specializing in high-performance multifamily housing throughout the Northeast. Our work spans ENERGY STAR Homes, LEED for Homes, Enterprise Green Communities, Passive House, HERS Ratings, state incentive programs, and energy code compliance.We are seeking an Energy Engineer to support multifamily projects through design, analysis, and early construction, helping project teams meet performance, program, and electrification goals.Key ResponsibilitiesReview project proposals and support development of clear scopes of work related to energy analysis and modelingPerform energy modeling and analysis for multifamily projects, including all-electric HVAC and domestic hot water systemsReview architectural and mechanical drawings to evaluate energy efficiency, system performance, and program alignmentSupport energy audits, utility analysis, and savings calculations to inform design decisionsAssist with documentation review, submission tracking, and verification for ENERGY STAR, LEED for Homes, Passive House, and related programsCoordinate with internal project managers to support schedules, scopes, and client deliverablesParticipate in on-site inspections and performance testing to verify alignment with modeled and program requirementsStay current on building science best practices, energy standards, and program updatesExperience contributing to energy modeling, audits, or green building certification programsStrong understanding of building science principles, HVAC systems, and high-performance construction strategiesFamiliarity with energy modeling tools such as eQUEST, TREAT, TRACE, HERS software, or similarStrong attention to detail and ability to work within documentation and QA/QC workflowsClear and professional communication skills across technical and non-technical teamsProficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based file management toolsEducationBachelor’s degree in engineering, building science, or a related field; orAssociate’s degree with extensive related experience; orSignificant experience in building construction, energy analysis, or performance testingAdditional RequirementsValid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving recordAuthorization to work in the United StatesWillingness to travel to job sites throughout the Northeast, including occasional overnight travelWhy Work With SCICompetitive compensation range: $72,000–$100,000Generous 401(k) match (100% up to 6%)Health coverage stipendUnlimited paid time offProfessional development and training opportunitiesOpportunity to work on innovative, high-performance multifamily housing projectsSustainable Comfort, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
