Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to provide technical leadership and SME-level coaching on all phases of process design for major capital projects. This role will be responsible for guiding execution of all project phases from Front End Engineering Development (FEED) through the development of detailed design packages. The ideal candidate has deep experience in process design; specifically, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, or other highly regulated industries.ResponsibilitiesLead the development of process engineering deliverables across all project phasesDevelop and validate PFDs, P&IDs, utility summaries, equipment specifications, and line listsProvide technical oversight, mentorship, and backchecking of engineering workPerform and review process design calculations including mass balances, pump hydraulics, line sizing, and equipment sizingSpecify and size pressure safety devices, instruments, and control valvesPrepare process scopes, design basis documents, and utility studies to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective facilitiesReview vendor data and integrate into overall design packagesDevelop project schedules and effort-hour budgets and manage to meet project goalsEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirementsQualificationsBS or MS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering5+ years of progressive process/design engineering experienceStrong knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, and pump hydraulicsHands-on experience with pressure relief device design, control valve sizing, and scenario analysisExperience working on capital projects in a process engineering capacity with an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm or similar design engineering organizationIndustry experience in Life SciencesPreferred QualificationsPharmaceutical or fine chemical industry experienceProficiency with process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, HYSYS)Familiarity with hydraulic sizing tools such as Pipe-FloDemonstrated leadership in training and developing engineering teamsQualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
