Job Description Housing Specialist (Part-Time)Reports To: Housing CoordinatorFLSA Status: Non-ExemptWork Schedule: Minimum of 20 hours per week; schedule may include holidays, evenings, and weekend work as requiredNOTE: This position may transition to full-time status based on organizational needs and available funding.Position Summary:The Housing Specialist provides direct support to participants in the Rapid Rehousing Program by delivering case management, housing navigation, and supportive services designed to promote housing stability and self-sufficiency. This role works closely with participants, community partners, and internal staff to ensure compliance with program requirements and successful client outcomes.Essential FunctionsThe following duties are considered essential to the position:Conduct participant intakes, eligibility screenings, and program enrollmentProvide ongoing case management and supportive services focused on housing stability and self-sufficiencyAssist participants with obtaining vital documentation, housing applications, utility setup, lease education etc.Conduct regular participant meetings (in-office, virtual, and community-based)Support safety planning in collaboration with domestic violence advocacy staff, when applicableConnect participants to community and mainstream resources(employment, benefits, childcare, transportation, etc.)Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services and participant interactions in HMIS, EmpowerDB, and other agency systemsMaintain client documents and landlord/vendor documentation such as W-9s, leases, and payment logs)Ensure all required documentation is collected, maintained, and updated(e.g., income verification, leases, inspections, recertifications)Monitor and maintain data quality and compliance with program and funding requirementsMaintain organized, complete, and audit-ready participant and program files (electronic and/or paper)Assist with program reporting, including preparation for monitoring visits and required reports (e.g., APR/CAPER)Participate in case staffing meetings and multidisciplinary coordination effortsSupport data collection, outcome tracking, and program evaluation activitiesPerform other duties as assigned to support program and organizational needsMinimum QualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree or master's degree in social work, human services, or a related field preferredRelevant professional experience in case management, housing services, or victim services may be considered in lieu of a degreeDemonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals in crisis and from diverse backgroundsKnowledge of the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence and the impact on individuals and familiesLicenses and Other RequirementsValid driver's license and reliable transportation with current insuranceAbility to travel locally as requiredSuccessful completion of criminal background, sex offender registry, and child abuse clearancesCompletion of a minimum of 26 hours of domestic violence/sexual assault training and all required agency trainingsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be knowledgeable of case management principles and trauma-informed care practicesMust be knowledgeable of community resources and social service systemsMust be knowledgeable of proper English usage, grammar, and professional communicationMust be knowledgeable of standard office practices and computer applications, including Microsoft Office and case management systemsMust have the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlinesMust have the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionMust possess strong organizational and documentation skillsMust have the ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, and community partnersMust have the ability to maintain professionalism, empathy, and appropriate boundaries in high-stress situationsMust have the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environmentPhysical and Work Environment RequirementsMust be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periodsMust be able to travel locally and attend offsite meetings or client visitsMust be able to operate a motor vehicleMust be able to perform work in an office, community-based, and remote environments as neededMust be able to manage exposure to emotionally sensitive and high-stress situationsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.All employees are expected to:Demonstrate respect for the dignity and equality of all individualsMaintain strict confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and applicable laws governing victim servicesAdhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standardsPresent a professional image and represent the organization positivelySupport the mission, values, and goals of the organizationADA Compliance StatementThe employee must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.DisclaimerThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the position.
