As we scale our team of engineers, technicians, and innovators, we are looking for a Lead Technical Recruiter to drive the strategy and execution of technical hiring across the company while helping guide and develop the recruiting team.The Lead Technical Recruiter plays a critical role in building Astrolab’s engineering and technical teams. This role combines hands-on recruiting with leadership within the recruiting function, including guiding recruiters, supporting recruiting strategy, and partnering closely with engineering leaders to attract exceptional technical talent. This person will help shape the direction of technical recruiting at Astrolab while contributing directly to hiring some of the company’s most critical roles.What you'll do:RecruitingLead full-cycle recruiting for complex technical roles including engineering, avionics, robotics, software, manufacturing, and other positionsDevelop sourcing strategies to identify and attract top technical talentBuild and maintain pipelines of high-quality candidates for critical technical rolesPartner with hiring managers to define role requirements and calibrate candidate profilesRecruiting Team LeadershipProvide day-to-day guidance and support to recruiters across active searchesHelp prioritize hiring efforts and ensure recruiting resources are aligned with company needsShare best practices on sourcing strategies, candidate engagement, and recruiting executionSupport the continued development of recruiters through mentorship and coachingHiring Strategy, Stakeholder Partnership, and Stakeholder ManagementPartner closely with engineering leaders and hiring managers to understand hiring priorities and timelinesProvide insights on talent markets and candidate availabilityAdvise and guide hiring managers on recruiting strategy, interview process structure, negotiations, and closing of candidatesCandidate Experience & Process ExecutionGuide candidates through the recruiting process from outreach through offerEnsure candidates receive a high-quality and professional interview experiencePartner with the People and Culture, IT, and Finance teams to maintain efficient recruiting workflows and systemsProcess ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency, quality, and speedHelp develop scalable recruiting processes that support company growthEnsure data integrity via real time ATS updates to provide usable and accurate metrics and dataWhat you'll bring:5+ years of technical recruiting experience, ideally in aerospace, robotics, hardware, or deep-tech environments1+ years of experience leading and growing a recruiting teamProven experience recruiting for highly specialized engineering rolesBenefits and PerksJoin a team of best-in-class engineers building the foundation of planetary surface explorationEquity ownership in the companyComprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and mental health support401(k) plan with company matchFlexible PTO and parental leaveHome office set up reimbursementWeekly lunch stipend, plus complimentary snacks and beverages on-siteOnce a month social hour on-site with food and drinks
