We are in the process of expanding Deloitte's Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) practice. We are seeking professionals who want to build off their accounting experience and use such knowledge on exciting advisory projects that add great value to our clients within their finance, accounting, and operation departments. From technical accounting issues to new standard implementations; and complex transaction support, the leaders of our practice will help you in expanding your experience base to further develop your career. Not only will you work independently, but you'll also collaborate with a diverse group of talented professionals. You'll use our cutting-edge tools and technology. Other responsibilities will include:Provide timely client service, deliver high quality work and strengthen client relationshipsAssist teams in providing technical accounting advice and preparing detailed calculations in areas such as:Revenue Recognition and related costs (ASC 606 and ASC 340-40)LeasesCurrent Expected Credit Losses (CECL)Stock-based compensationFinancial instruments and hedgingBusiness combinations and consolidationsForeign currenciesEarnings per shareCapitalization of internal use software and website development costsBe part of a team that assists clients with the accounting and reporting aspects of transactions including acquisitions, equity, and debtBe part of a team that assists clients in preparing the financial and reporting aspects of an IPOAssist clients in complying with SEC financial reporting requirements (10Ks, 10Qs and other filings)Assist with drafting private and public company financial statementsAssist clients in preparing for and completing audits, and liaising with the auditorsSupport growth efforts through pursuits, market research and maintaining a network of peers.Think creatively, problem solve and work independently and as a team in a fast paced environmentPerform research and expand your technical accounting expertiseThe teamOur team culture is collaborative and encourages team members to take initiative and seek on-the-job learning opportunities. Learn more about Deloitte Advisory Services.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field1+ years of public accounting or equivalent experienceMust meet minimal educational requirements for CPA licensure (which may differ from the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam) in the state of your assigned office location prior to beginning employmentYou should reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if requiredYou can expect to co-locate on average 3 times a week with variations based on types of work/projects and client locationsAbility to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveLimited immigration sponsorship may be availablePreferred:Advanced degree in accounting or related field1+ years of FASB/GASB, technical accounting experienceUS CPA license in the state in which your home office will be located prior to beginning employmentUp-to-date technical knowledge of US GAAP accounting standardsGood presentation skills and an ability to explain accounting issues clearly and succinctlyPrior experience in financial reporting and SEC requirements of IPOsKnowledge of IFRS or other international accounting standards an advantageThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
