General Food Service - Part-Time & Full-Time - AM & PM Available

Creative Dining Services is currently looking for both part-time and full-time General Food Service workers at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, IN. There are both AM and PM shifts available. The General Food Service Worker performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving food and beverages in one or more of a variety of food service environments. May assist in set up and service; and collection of garbage/trash; as appropriate to the area of operation. May serve food to customers and/or perform cashiering duties, as appropriate. Core Responsibilities of the General Food Service Worker:Sets up food service, kitchen, or salad area facilities, equipment and utensils, under detailed instruction, in accordance with specific area needs; checks food temperatures and/or prepares areas for daily operations; may operate cooking or bakery equipment as assigned.Prepares or assists in the preparation of hot and cold meals and beverages.Serves food items to customers from counters and/or steam tables, in accordance with specific instructions, ensuring that appropriate portions are served. As needed, replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations; may order and replenish condiments.May clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, dishes, utensils, and equipment; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers; as appropriate to the area of operation.Washes pots, pans, and other serviceware ensuring sanitary handling; organizes and replaces serviceware to appropriate location.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.The Ideal Candidate Will Have:High School graduate or equivalent preferredBasic reading and math skillsMust be able to communicate and understand primary language(s) use by guests who typically visit the work locationAbout Creative Dining ServicesCreative Dining Services partners with colleges, universities, Fortune 100 companies, full-service senior living communities, conference centers and K-12 schools and camps to provide a different kind of hospitality and facility management services experience-one that's fun, innovative, and focused on your community.
