SQL Software Developer

Job DescriptionPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Java / MySQL Developer to join our team and support the development, maintenance, and optimization of critical backend systems. This role is heavily focused on MySQL database development, including stored procedures, scheduled jobs, batch processing, and scripting, while also requiring hands-on Java development experience using Spring Boot. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who takes ownership of tasks from requirements through production support.SchedulePrimarily supports teams aligned to Eastern Time (EST)Flexible start timeMust be available through at least 12:00 PM EST each dayApproximately 9-hour workdayKey ResponsibilitiesDatabase Development & Support (70%)Design, develop, maintain, and optimize MySQL database solutions.Write and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve database-related production issues.Monitor and improve database performance and data integrity.Support batch processing and scheduled jobs, ensuring successful execution and issue resolution.Application Development (20%)Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to support business applications.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and system enhancements.Participate in debugging, testing, and deployment activities.Scripting & Operational Support (10%)Develop and maintain badge scripts and automation scripts.Support operational processes through scripting and job automation.Document solutions, processes, and technical configurations.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
