PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | Belt, Montana

This opportunity is for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in Stepdown or advanced medical/surgical care, located in Belt, Montana. The role focuses on providing direct patient care for medical and surgical patients requiring advanced monitoring and specialized nursing interventions in an inpatient hospital unit. This position operates under a contract arrangement.Responsibilities:Deliver comprehensive care to medical/surgical patients, including those with invasive lines such as arterial lines and patients requiring ventilatory support.Operate advanced medical equipment and manage multiple IV pumps efficiently.Assess and implement established protocols with minimal supervision.Serve as a clinical leader, providing guidance to nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) and other support staff including dietary and housekeeping.Assist with precepting and mentoring new staff members.Oversee patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning.Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, supervisors, and nursing leadership.Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited nursing program.Proven experience in an advanced medical/surgical unit with recent critical care nursing.Current Montana RN licensure is required.Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.Preferred certifications include Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Emergency Pediatric Nursing Course (EPNC), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).Proficient with advanced nursing principles, multiple IV pumps, and complex medical equipment.Location: Belt, Montana offers a quiet, close-knit community surrounded by scenic landscapes and outdoor activities.
