Maximus is recruiting Registered Nurses to complete assessments for the State of Tennessee’s TennCare CHOICES program. This is a wonderful opportunity to earn extra income on a flexible schedule while performing a valuable service for individuals in need. Opportunity Overview: Maximus is an industry leader in providing specialized assessment services, with a mission of ensuring that the individuals and populations we serve receive the appropriate care and supports necessary to promote the best quality of life. We are partnered with the State of Tennessee to manage the appeals process for the TennCare CHOICES program. One of the main goals of the CHOICES program is to help individuals who need long-term care receive those services while remaining at home or in the community. All CHOICES applicants are required to have a functional assessment evaluation completed to determine eligibility for the program and if an individual appeals the decision, the appeal is referred to Maximus to complete an additional evaluation. We are partnering with Registered Nurses on an independent contractor basis to administer these Appeal assessments. Responsibilities: This is an independent contractor position conducting onsite Pre-Admission Evaluations (PAE) as part of the appeal process for TennCare’s CHOICES program. Contact and schedule time to meet with the guardian/caregiver and the individual to be assessed. Meet at the assessment recipient’s current location, typically in a nursing or long-term care facility, hospital, or residence. Review all supporting documentation and available medical records. Assessments will be referred within your community or surrounding communities. There is no office to report to. Assessments can be accepted or declined in accordance with your schedule. Complete and return assessment within 72 hours of accepting the referral. Compensation is per completed assessment. Qualifications: Active RN license in the state of Tennessee, or a compact RN license that allows providing services in Tennessee. Two or more years of experience providing direct nursing care in varied specialties. Must be conflict of interest free, which includes no employment with the State of Tennessee, Area Agency on Aging and Disability, or Managed Care Organizations.
