Job Summary We are hiring a hands-on finance leader to bring control, visibility, and accountability to a fast-growing business. This role is ideal for a builder who can clean up complexity, run a disciplined finance function, and grow into a CFO-caliber operator over time.

Role Summary This is not a maintenance role. We need a Director of Finance who can step into a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and create order out of complexity. The right person is both strategic and highly execution-oriented: someone who can think like a future CFO while also rolling up their sleeves to fix broken processes, tighten controls, and drive accountability across cash flow, AR, AP, close, reporting, commissions, tax, and forecasting.
What You'll Own Lead the day-to-day finance function across accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, commissions, reporting, and compliance.
Manage and develop a 4-person finance team with clear accountability, priorities, and performance standards.
Build and maintain weekly cash flow reporting and improve overall cash management discipline.
Own AR visibility and collections rigor, including aging review, escalation, and cash application accuracy.
Improve monthly close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
Partner with the CEO and leadership team on budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, and financial decision-making.
Oversee tax and compliance workflows, including sales tax coordination, outside partners, filings, and audit support.
Evaluate and optimize systems, workflows, and automation opportunities across the finance stack.
What Success Looks Like Establish a reliable weekly finance reporting cadence.
Build and maintain a current 13-week cash flow forecast.
Improve trust in AR aging, collections reporting, and cash visibility.
Reduce surprises around large cash outflows, tax payments, and reporting gaps.
Bring structure, urgency, and follow-through to a function that must scale with the business.
What We're Looking For 7+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.
Experience leading finance in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or lower-middle-market company.
Strong command of cash flow management, AR/AP, close, reporting, budgeting, and financial controls.
Proven ability to build or clean up processes in a messy environment.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
High ownership mentality - you do not wait to be chased.
Strong systems orientation and comfort with technology, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Strongly Preferred CPA, CMA, or MBA.
Experience in distribution, eCommerce, promotional products, or other product-based businesses.
Experience with QuickBooks, Stripe, Avalara, payroll platforms, and commission workflows.
Compensation and Benefits $100,000-$120,000 + Bonus Opportunity
