Responsible to Position ClassificationsConcierge and Security Services Coordinator Hourly/Non-exemptDirectly Supervises and EvaluatesNoneIs Back Up To: DriverIs Backed Up By: DriverWOODLAND POND CONFORMANCE STATEMENTIn the performance of their respective duties and responsibilities, all employees are expected to conform to the following:Performing quality work with or without direct supervisionInteracting professionally with other employees, residents, guests, and all othersWorking effectively and in accordance with the Woodland Pond Communication FundamentalsCompleting tasks independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizationsComplying with all federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations as well as Woodland Pond policy and procedure at all timesPosition SummaryThe Driver is responsible for transporting residents of Woodland Pond to medical appointments, errands, special outings, and other destinations as assignedESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function)Receives daily schedule from the Concierge; communicates with the Concierge throughout the day regarding pick up/drop off times (*CF)Is responsible for taking a roll call each time residents board the bus (*CF)Assists residents with packages and WP grocery carts as neededProvides supervision as residents enter and exit the bus (*CF)Operates wheelchair lift to assist residents on/off the bus (*CF)Uses hands free devices if using the phone while drivingCleans the inside and outside of the bus as needed and as requested by supervisorRemoves all trash from the inside of the bus and sweeps the inside of the bus as neededAlerts supervisor when oil change, inspection, registration, or other required maintenance is neededContacts supervisor immediately if an accident involving the bus occursReports resident illness or behavior changes to supervisorDeparts Woodland Pond in a timely manner; if a resident does not board on time the rest of the group should not have to waitMeets with supervisor and other drivers once a month to discuss following month's scheduleFollows all traffic laws including posted speed limits and utilizing safety beltsCompletes idle time tasks as assignedCompleting all required training and in-servicesAll other duties as assignedGENERAL SKILLS AND ABILITIESMaintains high standards for work areas, attitude and appearanceUnderstands that honesty and ethics are essential in the performance of dutiesWilling to learn and growDemonstrates maturity in judgment and behaviorsAble to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidaysMaintains predictable and reliable attendance, wearing the appropriate uniform as assigned QualificationsHigh school diploma, or HSE with two years of similar experienceValid NYS Class D Driver's License, with a clean driving record and proof of valid personal liability auto insurance requiredExcellent customer service and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to function within a Windows based computer programAbility to multitaskDemonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating by telephone and in person with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population DEgree of travelOccasional off-site meetings, seminars, and conferencesDisruption to RoutineMust adapt to frequent schedule changes, department workload, and resident needs.
