Role Description This is a part time, on site Teaching Assistant position based in New York, NY. The Teaching Assistant will support lead instructors during academic tutoring and test preparation sessions. Responsibilities include assisting students with daily homework, reinforcing lesson material, and providing academic support for NYS state exams and SHSAT preparation. The role involves working directly with small groups of students ranging from 1st grade and up, with class sizes typically between 2 and 8 students. The position is scheduled for Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm and Fridays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, totaling approximately three hours per week, with potential for additional hours as programs expand. Qualifications Experience working with young children in an educational or tutoring setting Strong communication skills with students and parents Familiarity with the NYS curriculum Ability to support homework completion and foundational test preparation Patient, dependable, and organized with the ability to adapt to different learning styles Bachelor’s degree preferred or currently enrolled in an accredited university Interest in education, tutoring, or youth development Work Environment This is an in person, on site position Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 – 4.0 per week Benefits: Employee discount Work Location: In person
