Senior Accountant
JOB SUMMARY (added Nov 2023)
The Senior Accountant will perform accounting tasks in support of overall business operations. They are responsible for assisting in the daily accounting and administration functions of the company to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger. The Senior Accountant will also assist with audit preparations and document policies, procedures and workflow for their assigned areas of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform journal entries and account reconciliations
Assist in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including Budget vs. Actual variance reports
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules
Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned
Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and periodic reviews
Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
Assist with the interim and annual external audits
Other responsibilities as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of accounting software (NetSuite experience preferred) for general ledger and GAAP basis
Self-starter, needing little or no supervision
Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities
Adaptability to an evolving organizational structure
Minimum years of work experience: 3 years
Three plus years experience at both public and private companies is desirable
Minimum level of education or education/experience: Bachelors Degreein accounting or finance
