Performs daily maintenance on all equipment used. Assist in a variety of building repairs and maintenance. Reports to airfield supervisor. Must become proficient in all duties within 6 months of date of hire.Duties for this PositionMust be able to repair airfield lighting, constant current regulators and airfield signage. Performs daily maintenance on all equipment used. Must pass airfield drivers training and learn FAA airfield rules and regulations within 6 months of hire. Receives work orders and completes jobs in a timely manner as assigned by the department supervisor. Assist with operating/maintaining crack sealing & paint striping equipment on airfield pavements. Mow grass, cut weeds, trees, etc. Maintain airfield ditches, culvert pipes, fence line, etc. Assists skilled craftsmen in performing a variety of building and grounds maintenance duties. Utilizes a variety of hand tools, landscape tools, and equipment. May require ATF certification as possessor of explosives to assist in wildlife management. Performs minor maintenance on airport equipment. Must be able to communicate on radios; 800mhz and air to ground. Must understand and follow all FAA Part 139 and all current advisory circulars related to duties. FAA and TSA rules and regulations training and AOA driver training mandatory. Will work in all weather conditions and airport emergencies. Will be required on occasion to work at night/weekend. Ability to perform manual labor and lift at least 40 pounds. Required to have flexible availability for airport emergency staffing purposes, and must provide detailed ongoing information to supervisor as to availability during times that he/she is not regularly scheduled. Understands and complies with Horry County and Department policies regarding absences and use of paid leave time and other policies. Performs other related duties as required/ assigned. Position Minimum RequirementsPreferred: Two years related airport experience. Two years electrical experience. Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations. Knowledge of FAA rules and regulations.Additional InformationHigh school diploma or GED. License, certification, or formal training in the following: (CDL license required) Maintain and repair airfield lighting and signage. Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Candidate must have strong computer skills and be able to pass a background check without indication of possible aviation security risk as required by the transportation security administration, valid SC motor vehicle operator's license, and meet pre-employment drug screening requirements.
