Head of Advertising
Lab 916 is hiring a Senior Director, Amazon Account Strategy to lead Amazon channel ownership for a portfolio of established CPG and consumer brands. Reporting to the CEO, you'll be both the strategic head and the hands-on operator across your book: owning client P&L outcomes, setting the channel strategy, and running the day-to-day execution that delivers it.This is a senior leadership role on a small team. You'll lead strategy and day-to-day execution of paid advertising (Sponsored Ads and DSP), set and defend KPI targets, build out the playbooks that scale across the agency, and mentor the analysts and account managers who execute alongside you. You'll be the primary point of contact for your clients' senior stakeholders: the person they call when something matters.We're looking for someone entrepreneurial and results-driven, hands-on and inquisitive, who can champion sales growth while delivering critical insights to clients and to our leadership. You don't just hit ROAS; you move the business.Short- and long-term Amazon strategy for each brand in your portfolio, from assortment and product architecture to launch sequencingFull sales product lifecycle alignment: item setup, sell-through, forecasting, in-stock, pricing - even when execution sits with another teammate, you understand the whole channel and make sure it adds upStrategy and day-to-day execution of paid advertising - Sponsored Ads, DSP, Sponsored TV, AMC. You're in the console, not just reviewing someone else's pulls.Advertising budget management - building the budget, defending the spend, optimizing to client-specific ROI thresholds. Weekly performance reviews are non-negotiable.KPI ownership - sales, ROAS, TACoS, conversion rate, organic share. You set the targets, track them, and consistently meet them.Data-driven optimization across PPC, DSP, and organic - using AMC, third-party tools, and Amazon syndicated data to actually answer the "why" behind the numbersCross-functional alignment with our creative, catalog, SEO, and operations teams so advertising isn't doing the work aloneClient relationships at the senior level - QBRs, strategy off-sites, the hard conversations. You're the trusted partner, not the order-taker.Team leadership and mentorship - coaching account managers, raising the floor on how the agency operates, hiring when it's timeCore Skills and Qualifications7+ years of Amazon experience, with significant time in CPG. Experience in Health & Wellness, Nutritional Supplements, Beauty, or Home & Lifestyle a plus.Subject matter expert in Amazon paid advertising - Sponsored Ads, DSP, AMC, Sponsored TV. You've moved the levers and you know what each one does.Strong understanding of Amazon-specific business practices and consumer behavior - vendor management, Seller Central operations, FBA, project management against Amazon's ridiculous calendarExperience with Amazon syndicated data (Brand Analytics, ARA, AMC) and at least one of the major bid management platforms (Pacvue, Perpetua, Skai, etc.)Strategic and analytical, with exceptional execution. Comfortable doing work in the trenches while maintaining a strategic perspective. Both/and, not either/or.Gritty.
