Senior Jira Analytics & Dashboard Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Jira Analytics & Dashboard Engineer to design and implement an enterprise-wide agile analytics and reporting platform. This role will transform manual reporting processes into scalable, automated, and data-driven insights across delivery performance, schedule health, capacity, quality, and financial metrics.You will work at the intersection of Jira, data engineering, and business intelligence, building advanced dashboards and predictive analytics solutions that empower leadership and delivery teams to make real-time, informed decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver enterprise-grade Jira dashboards and analytics solutionsBuild automated reporting frameworks covering:Schedule variance and delivery trackingThroughput-based forecasting and completion predictionsCapacity planning and utilization analysisQuality metrics, defect trends, and rework insightsBudget tracking and cost analysisDevelop predictive and historical analytics models using Jira and integrated data sourcesIntegrate and optimize tools within the Atlassian ecosystem, including:Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, eazyBI, TempoPower BI Connector, Custom Charts, Rich FiltersCreate advanced performance metrics such as:Velocity trends, burndown/burnup analyticsMTTR, bottleneck identificationEstimate accuracy and time performance indicatorsConfigure and leverage AI-driven insights (Atlassian Rovo) for reporting narratives and decision supportEnsure all analytics solutions are:Accurate, traceable, and repeatableFully documented and audit-readySupport UAT, stakeholder validation, and knowledge transfer to ensure adoption and sustainabilityRequired Skills & Experience8+ years of experience in Jira Software administration (enterprise-scale, Cloud environments)8+ years of experience in Jira analytics and reporting, including advanced JQL5+ years designing advanced dashboards and metrics frameworksStrong programming and integration experience with:JavaScript / TypeScript (Atlassian Forge)REST APIs and external system integrationsDeep hands-on expertise with:ScriptRunner (Groovy + HAPI)Jira Smart Values and Jira ExpressionseazyBI (MDX)Power BI (DAX and Jira connectors)Tempo (timesheets, planning, cost tracking)Proven experience working in large, multi-team agile environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting PMO or portfolio-level reporting frameworksKnowledge of:Earned Value Management (EVM)Schedule variance and forecasting methodologiesExposure to predictive analytics and throughput-based forecasting modelsExperience aligning analytics with enterprise governance and audit standardsWhat You’ll DeliverStandardized, scalable organization-wide and project-level dashboardsPredictive models for delivery forecasting and risk identificationActionable insights into performance, bottlenecks, and cost driversA fully documented and sustainable analytics framework with knowledge transferKey ExpectationsBuild solutions that scale across Scrum and Kanban teamsEnsure all metrics are:Transparent and explainableBacked by system-generated data (no assumptions)Align AI-driven insights with validated reporting logicDrive enterprise adoption, consistency, and long-term sustainability
