In this position, you will operate under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, delivering hands-on rehabilitative care primarily to senior patients in a post-acute, skilled nursing, and long-term care setting.Your responsibilities will include executing personalized treatment plans aimed at enhancing functional independence, safety, and overall quality of life. A significant emphasis will be placed on activities of daily living, such as:DressingGroomingBathingFunctional mobilityAs a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting with patient evaluations by collecting relevant information, observing functional capabilities, and reporting your observations to the supervising therapist. Your tasks will involve:Implementing therapeutic exercises and activitiesGuiding patients in the safe use of adaptive equipmentReinforcing techniques that enhance strength, coordination, balance, and cognitive engagementYou will also be responsible for closely monitoring patient responses, documenting progress in electronic medical records, and communicating any changes in condition or performance to the therapy and nursing teams.Collaboration is key in this role. You will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, nurses, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
