Facilities Electrical Engineer
Farnsworth Group is seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer in the posting locations below. In this role, you will support electrical systems required for the installation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role ensures that all electrical infrastructure, power distribution, and control systems meet tool specifications, facility requirements, and industry safety standardsPosting Locations: Boise, ID and Phoenix, AZWhat You’ll DoDesign and develop electrical layouts for semiconductor tool installations, including power distribution and control wiring.Prepare and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts.Define and verify electrical requirements for semiconductor tools (voltage, load, grounding, and power quality).Coordinate with facilities, construction teams, and equipment vendors to ensure proper installation and integration.Support tool hook-up, energization, commissioning, and startup activities.Ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, SEMI standards).Conduct design reviews, safety assessments, and risk mitigation (e.g., arc flash, grounding).Troubleshoot electrical issues during installation and startup phases.Review vendor documentation and ensure alignment with site requirements.Maintain accurate as-built drawings and documentation.What You’ll NeedBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.2–5+ years of experience in electrical design, industrial systems, or semiconductor environments.Knowledge of low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems.Experience with electrical CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).Understanding of grounding, bonding, and power quality requirements.Familiarity with cleanroom environments and installation constraints.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.Nice To HavesExperience with semiconductor tool installation or facility design.Knowledge of SEMI standards (e.g., S2 safety guidelines).Experience with PLC systems, control panels, and industrial automation.Familiarity with backup power systems (UPS, generators).Exposure to project engineering or construction coordination.Who We AreJoin Farnsworth Group, a nationally recognized architectural, engineering, and surveying firm, where your career can thrive!
