Senior Program Manager
Responsible for the performance of a relatively significant program or multiple programs in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines. Program area typically represents more than three functional areas. Also responsible for acquiring follow-on business associated with assigned programs and for supporting new business development by leading proposals.
Essential Functions:
Defines, launches, and drives mission-critical strategic and operational initiatives in core programs. Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways
Creates a method of change management including ownership of a documentation library, communication plans, process training, etc
Responsible for complex program management tasks and development of standards and processes for scheduling, administration, and accounting
Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff, and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objective of the program group/function
Exercises judgment and delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing many routine and complex projects/programs
Experience with customer communications, negotiations and proposal management
The candidate must be able to keep team members focused on schedule milestones and objectives and must motivate team members to develop cost effective, customer-oriented solutions and approaches.
Must be able to act independently and make decisions on administrative / operational issues affecting the success of this organization.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering Preferred (or equivalent)
MBA is desirable
A minimum of 10 years related experience.
Extensive background in strategic planning, competitive assessments, and bidding/acquisition of multi-million dollar contracts
Experience in working with the Defense and Aerospace customer community and in serving as a principal point of contact to key military and commercial customers
Strong interpersonal skills especially in team building/maintenance and customer relationships
