Adjunct Instructor Biotechnology, BioWork
Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach biomanufacturing classes. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis at various locations.This position instructs assigned workforce continuing education courses within the Biotechnology department and serves as an industry liaison to develop and teach related content.,To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Courses are predominately BioWork and continuing education but could also include coursework in the Biotechnology AAS degree programs, and or industry trainingTutors students who need assistance learning biotechnology conceptsCompletes administrative responsibilities, such as grading, taking attendance, testing, coursework development, counseling students, creating syllabi, etc.Maintains a safe and orderly learning environmentUses a variety of instructional delivery methods and theory to create high-quality learning experiences for studentsCreates and maintains lab environments and activities that enhance learning for students including classroom set up and clean upLearns virtual platforms, such as Blackboard and Canvas, and conducts virtual instruction as neededAble to hold and schedule additional out-of-class meetings with students as neededMaintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate,Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesUnderstands the fundamentals of cGMP and industrial safetyAbility to be innovative, creative, and motivatedExhibits Good Interpersonal Skills And Work Well With OthersAble to meet deadlines consistentlyDemonstrates good organizational skillsAble to perform normal duties with minimal supervisionCommunicates effectively, both written and verbalDemonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potentialRequirementsAssociate degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or related disciplineUnofficial transcripts must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to Human Resources immediately upon completing the application.
