To maintain dietary equipment in a safe, sanitary manner.Follow menus and prepare food and beveragesOrganize duties to complete tray service in a timely mannerAssure kitchen equipment and surfaces are clean and sanitized according to dietary proceduresStore food in compliance with dietary proceduresResponsibilitiesPrepare all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roast items per standardized recipesPrepares and serves all sauteed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items per standardized recipesPrepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet ordersPlans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preservedDetermines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal productionAlso must maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in Attendance PolicyQualificationsAbility to understand and following instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmeticAbility to understand measurements and conversionsA minimum of three years of experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institutionAbility to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standardsKnowledge of kitchen equipmentWe are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
