Help New Mexico (HELPNM) was created in 1965 by the interdenominational New Mexico Council of Churches to support education in their community. Today, their legacy and impact carry on through HELPNM's work as a fully-owned subsidiary of CPLC. The Office of Learning and Academic Opportunity (OLAO) provides services to children and families from birth to eight years of age. Our priority is to provide general services related to families in the areas of education, health and social/behavioral development. OLAO also provides an intentional, coordinated approach to strengthening the family unit and combines programming for children and adults in order to build strong and stable families.HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?You will be responsible for preparing, purchasing, storing, and serving food in accordance with USDA/CACFP and New Mexico Environmental Division and other related child nutrition policies and procedures.You must be able to adapt to daily fast-paced food service environment for young children and work cooperatively and supportively with center staff.You will ensure all activities and interactions will be in conformance with all federal, state, and local regulations, standards, policies, procedures, and best practices.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIESEducation/Background:High School or GEDAssociates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; or Child Development Associate (CDA) or New Mexico Child Development Certificate or willing to work towards requirements within a specific timeframe identified by the program.Minimum of 1-2-years' experience cooking for young children and/or others in a group setting or early childhood/public school setting.First Aid/CPR Certified and Food Handler's Certification or willing to obtain within the first 6-months of employment is required.Health Determination/TB Skin Test and Fingerprint Background Check prior to employmentBilingual ability (Spanish/English) is preferredDriver's License/Proof of Insurance (Preferred):Maintain a current New Mexico driver's license, an insurable driving record, and provide proof of current liability insurance meeting or exceeding State-required minimum coverages is preferred for this position.What does CPLC offer YOU as a valued employee?
