CookTX-Corpus Christi Corps - Corpus Christi, TX 78404 End Date 05/29/2026OverviewSalary Range $11.42 - $14.00 Position Type Casual Category Food ServiceAbout This Opportunity:Work Schedule: Casual, as needed basis.This position is responsible for:Planning menus and purchasing food and supplies necessary for the preparation and serving of nutritional meals.Cleaning, cooking, and preparing a variety of foods and beverages utilizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and supplies in accordance with acceptable and economical cooking methods.Ensuring that enough food is prepared based on the number of people to be served and that food is prepared in a timely manner as scheduled.Serving food and beverages in a presentable manner; preparing plates for infants or persons requiring additional assistance.Setting tables with plates, napkins, and utensils or setting up buffet line for self-service.Key Responsibilities:Assisting in coordinating and carrying-out arrangements for programs and special events.Supervising residents assisting in preparing and serving meals and cleaning of kitchen equipment.Performing other related work as required.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to cook, taste, and smell food.Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting, relieved by lesser periods of sitting.What We Are Looking For In You:Education and Experience:High school diploma or G.E.D.AndOne-year experience cooking food for large groups,orAny equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Certifications:Valid State Driver's LicenseEqual Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled
