Renovation Designer/ Project Manager

Job description Soho Deco is a licensed contractor that specializing in custom design and renovation. We accommodate both commercial and residential projects. Soho Deco has showrooms provide design concept, material selection, and has direct dealership with Miele and Sub-zero Wolf appliances. Our specialty is in modern, contemporary, and European style design, and we offer a one-stop service for all remodeling needs from conception to construction. We are looking for a team-oriented Project Manager/ Designer with the overall execution of our projects. This person must be able to efficiently communicate and to work with clients, vendors, builders, construction workers, other designers and project managers, drafters, and accounting/purchasing personnel. The candidate must be able to read Floor Plans, Layouts and Elevations. We especially welcome candidates who have drafting skills and have strong knowledge of construction principles. Primary Responsibilities: Inspect the project and meet with customers to set expectations Provides detailed building survey, schematic design, design development and construction documentation Provides working technical drawings for craftsmen and contractors Create quotations for clients Coordinates work schedules with all required personnel while maintaining clear written and oral communications with customers and management to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and all quality issues are satisfactorily resolved Provide change of orders, and invoices for customers as needed Reviews project related paperwork such as drawings and specification, contracts and proposals for services. Ensures adherence to proper procedures regarding contracts, payment arrangements, change orders and closing paperwork Manage the procurement of materials including selecting materials and generating Purchase Order Obtain city , HOA, or any permit required for projects Preferred Knowldege & Skill Requirements: 5+ years related experience in design and construction preferred. Knowledge of architectural and interior design, permitting services, and construction management preferred. Knowledge of material selections Strong communication skills Ability to takes initiative and follows through Ability to work with multiple projects and to meet deadlines Must be persistent, accurate, organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and people-oriented Conversational Chinese and understanding of Asian culture to better serve Soho Deco’s largely Asian customer demographic is preferred Thorough knowledge of all Soho Deco products and services Proficiency at architectural drawings of buildings and details Advanced knowledge of digital sketching, rendering skills Familiarity with software such as 20/20, Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
