At Alpha, our commitment lies in treating every client with utmost dignity and respect while also valuing and nurturing the abilities of our employees to foster their professional growth.Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Program Coordinator assists with overseeing the provision of support for assigned participants. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for supervisory tasks and may also provide personal care supports as needed. The Program Coordinator will interact with program participants and must be familiar with the Guiding Values issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). At all times, the Program Coordinator will seek to act in accord with the principles and values expressed and uphold the agency mission.Day-to-Day Assist Program Supervisor and provide participant supports that meet their individual needsRevise staffing schedules and help find coverage for staff absences/vacations;Work direct support shifts as neededProvide on-site training to new staffMonitor petty cash funds and complete related activitiesMonitor the upkeep of participant homes and notify appropriate personnel about concerns, assisting with resolutions as needed or requestedReview participant-related documentation and discuss with supervisor regularly Attend Person Centered Planning meetings and participate in the development and implementationof participant IISPs;Encourage and support participants to provide input / personal preferences for IISP goal settingMonitor progress toward IISP goal completion and assist supervisor with staff training as neededSupport participants to decorate their personal living space and provide training to staff regarding how to empower personal choice and self determination Monitor and track routine tasks;Activity Calendars – Encourage participants to plan or select community activities on a regular basis; Provide input and suggestions when neededCleaning Schedules – Help participants develop cleaning schedules for their homes; Develop schedules for clients that are unable to participate; Monitor progress and inform Program Supervisor of concerns; Assist with cleaning as neededAgency Vehicles – Monitor and complete regularly scheduled maintenance; Compile and maintain insurance, registration and licensing documents for each vehicle; Maintain first aid kits for each vehicle; Notify Program Supervisor of any concerns related to vehicle safety, maintenance orGrocery Shopping – Work with Lead DSP to monitor food supply and confirm necessary items are purchased for the weekly menuAdaptive or Safety Equipment - Monitor, track and review participant safety equipment; Record monthly safety checks and fire drills Maintain and develop professional working relationships with:Participants’ families and friends, vocational program staff, day program staff, DDA Case/Resource Management and other service providersInternal staff (and communicate information as needed or required, including incident reports Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars; complete individualtraining requirements annually and maintain certifications and licensures, as requiredAttend mandatory training to complete:First Aid / CPRBlood borne pathogensMandated reporter12 Continuing Education HoursOperate a personal vehicle on a regular basis; Maintain personal vehicle in a safe operating condition:Who We Are Looking ForBasic to intermediate ability to use common productivity software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Ability and willingness to learn new software and/or information systems.Basic ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-makingIntermediate ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audienceAbility and willingness to demonstrate sound judgement and exercise decision making relevant to the scope of workKnowledge of personal care skills, techniques and procedures; Demonstrated ability to use this knowledge to provide care and support for participantsAbility to recognize, adjust and react appropriately to individual differences in ability, personality, interests, behavioral challenges and medication protocolsIntermediate to advanced customer service skills; Actively look to help others; Awareness of impact of actions on others; Sensitivity and awareness to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make senseJob RequirementsAt least 18 years of ageAn associate degree, or its equivalent, from a recognized college or university and at least one year experience working in social services orA high school diploma/GED and three years’ experience working in social servicesHave a Washington State Driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and able to be covered on Alpha Supported Living Services’ automobile insurance plan based upon his/her driving recordBackground inquiry clearance from an authorized state agencyStarting WageALL Program Coordinators will start at $27.00 per hour.Pay Transparency: Wage ScaleThis position has a starting rate of $27.00 per hour and can earn up to $32.60 per hour through annual step increases.BenefitsBenefits for Full-Time Employees (30 hours or more a week) include Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b) (non-profit version of a 401(k)) with company match, Life Insurance, Tuition Savings Program, and Tuition Reimbursement. Employees working 34 or more hours a week are eligible for PTO accrual.
