Designated Sign Language Interpreter to Deaf Audiologist
*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter for an Audiologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for adapting to new environments, learning how to specialize in the Deaf Professional's field of study and broadening their scope of experience in a niche environment.
Facilitate English to ASL/ Signed English in all areas including:
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to address patient needs
- Patient Interactions
- Social and Professional settings
- Adapt interpreting methods to create a seamless work flow for DP
*Skills*
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism - sometimes using SIMCOM methods to create more flow between consumers when necessary
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to audiology or willingness to learn
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is beneficial
- Self-motivation/initiative to learn specialized signs, audiology terminology, and DP preferences
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Proficiency in American Sign Language
- Oregon State Licensure Requirements for General and Medicine Apply
- RID Certification
